Philanthropy and Donations Tracking

In Brightest's Donations & Philanthropy tab, you can track the following information about your donations:

• Donation amount

• Donation currency

• Flag a donation as recurring

• Month and Year of the donation

• Recipient's Name

• Recipient's EIN

• Recipient's Address

• Campaign - if the donations correspond to an organizational campaign or program (see documentation on creating campaigns below)

• Status - Approved, In Review, or Requested

• Attach relevant documentation

• Link products for in-kind donations (products will need to have already been created in the Products tab in the Sustainability Module)

• In-kind donation monetary value

• And add meta tags and description information

Using the Add Tool to upload philanthropy and donation information

To enter philanthropy and donation data manually, you can use the "+ Add New" option.

1. Select "+ Add New"

2. Enter the relevant information into the form:

Field	Required?	Description
Amount	Yes	The donation amount.
Currency	No, but recommended	The currency of the donation amount.
Recurring	No, if the toggle switch is not set to "on", Brightest will assume that the donation is not recurring	Toggle the switch "on" if this is a recurring donation, toggle switch "off" if donation is not recurring.
Year	Yes	The year the donation was made.
Month	Yes	The month the donation was made.
Recipient Name	No	The name of the donation recipient.
Recipient EIN	No	The recipient's EIN (tax ID number).
Address	No	The recipient's address.
Campaign	No	Link the donation to a specific campaign or cause. See documentation on creating campaigns below.
Status	No, but if not selected, Brightest will use the default "Approved"	Select if the donation is "Requested," "Approved," or "In Review."
Document	No	Upload documentation relating to the donation.
Products	No	Attach products related to in-kind donations. Note: these products need to have been created in the Products Tab within the Sustainability Module to be visible.
Inkind Donation Value	Yes	Add the monetary value of in-kind donations.
Meta Tags	No	Attach tags to the donation.
Description	No	Add a description or more information about the donation.

1. Select the green "Save" button.

Step 2 and 3: Fill out the donation creation form and select "Save"

Uploading philanthropy and donations via CSV importer

1. Select the "+ CSV Import"

2. Download the Philanthropy Data CSV Upload Template. Fill in the necessary fields (see the chart above for descriptions of each field).

3. Import your completed CSV, verify the data, and select "Save".

Step 1: Select "+ CSV Import"

Step 2: Download the CSV Import Template and fill in your information

Step 3: Upload your CSV, verify your data, and select "Save"

Creating philanthropy campaigns

1. Select the button (next to the CSV Export Option), and select "Create Campaign +".

2. Fill out the campaign creation form:

Field	Required	Description
Name	Yes	Name of your organization's philanthropy campaign or program
Description	No	Add a description about your campaign or program
Type	No, but recommended	Select your campaign type: - Fundraiser or Giving - Employee or Team - Grant - In-kind or Product Giveaway - Event - Live Auction - Silent Auction - Digital Auction - Raffle or Door Prize - Digital or Social Media - Direct Mail - Other
Meta Tags	No	Attach tags to your campaign.

1. Select "Save".

Step 1: Select the "Create Campaign +" Button

Step 2 and 3: Complete the campaign creation form and select "Save"

To bulk upload campaigns

1. Select the "View Campaigns" button to see a list of your campaigns.

2. Select "+ CSV Import"

3. Fill out the CSV template, upload and select "Save".

Step 1: Select "View campaigns" Button

Step 2: Select "+ CSV Import"

Step 3: Download the CSV template if needed, then upload and select "Save"

To view or edit your campaigns:

1. Select the button (next to the CSV Export Option), and select "View Campaigns".

2. You can then edit or delete each campaign individually by selecting the (edit) button or delete button, or you can bulk edit your campaigns by selecting the campaigns you'd like to edit and clicking the button in the corner.

To view your campaigns: select the "View Campaigns" button

To bulk edit: select the campaigns you'd like to edit, click the bulk edit button, then select the field you'd like to update along with the new value and select "Save"
