Below are walk-through steps for entering KPI data in different areas of Brightest: ESG Dashboard, Goals, Actions, and Assets.

Table of Contents

Entering KPI data in the ESG Dashboard

There are different edit functions for your KPI once you have added it to your ESG Dashboard.

The green edit symbol allows you to edit the data points. Enter data per year according to the units. Click on the red “x” symbol to cancel your changes or click on the green “floppy disk” symbol to save your changes.

The white edit symbol allows you to change the KPI. A dropdown menu of your KPI library will appear. You can select a KPI to replace the one you previously selected.

To delete the KPI from your Brightest object, simply click on the red trash symbol. This will delete the KPI from your object (e.g. Dashboard, Goal, Asset etc.) and delete all data sets in that specific KPI.

Entering KPI data in Goals

To add data or edit your Goal KPI, click on the “data” button at the far right corner of your goal.

This will take you to the data page where you can see an overview of the KPI information.

If the KPI is not linked to Built-in-Brightest metrics, you can edit it by clicking on “View / Edit Data”. Data can be entered manually or via a csv file template upload.

KPIs that are linked to Built-in-Brightest metrics like datasets related to carbon accounting, cannot be edited in this page because the data is linked to other areas in Brightest.

Entering KPI data in Actions

KPIs and custom metrics can be added to your Actions in Brightest. You can link a KPI to a new or already existing Action.

Navigate to your Actions Module and click on the "data" symbol in the top right corner of your action.

Data for the KPI can be entered manually or through a csv file template. To view or edit the data, click on the “edit / view” button next to the KPI.

Entering data in Assets

KPIs can be linked to individual Assets.

To do this, navigate to your Assets in the Sustainability Module. In your Asset library, locate the Asset you want to add the KPI to. In the “Data” column click on the pie chart symbol. This will open up the analytics for that Asset.

Once in the Asset sustainability report, you will see two tabs, one “Report” and the other “KPI”.

Click on the KPI tab. This will open up the KPI library for that Asset. To add or edit data, click on the green edit symbol. To change the KPI click on the white edit symbol. To delete the KPI, click on the red trash symbol.

To enter KPI data via the Asset footprint page, return back to the Asset library page. Locate the Asset where you want to enter KPI data. Then click on "Add or Edit data" in the Asset's Footprint column. Once in the Asset footprint page, click on the category "KPI" then "Add data". You can select your KPI(s) from the "Metric" dropdown menu.

Enter the amount and period interval, then click "Update or Save".
