Goals

Goals can be any company-wide objective, emissions targets or KPIs. How you decide or define your mission, strategy, materiality, and priority impact, sustainability, or ESG metrics is up to you and your organization, but generally Brightest is flexible enough to accommodate nearly any type of organization and nearly any sets of goals or targets.

By setting goals and metrics in the "Goals" module, you can create an internal framework for what your organization is trying to achieve, when you are trying to achieve it by, and how you're measuring, tracking, and reporting progress.

If you're new (or newer) to impact measurement and reporting, you may also want to reference our free impact measurement and ESG reporting guides, and watch our how-to tutorial on using goals and metrics in Brightest.

The Goals module is also where you can establish environmental or emissions-based targets as well as create your materiality matrix (for transform & enterprise accounts). Materiality pillars are represent as goals and materiality themes represented by tags.

ESG & Sustainability Reporting

In the ESG reporting section is where users can access ESG and sustainability international standards and frameworks. You can create, manage, edit and collaborate on their ESG reports. The report section offers fill-in templates that allows the user to upload relevant documents, lock answers to control editing permissions and additionally has auditing features.

Also, try out the AI-generate feature which uses AI to fill in suggested answers to report questions. Note, this is still in the beta phase. We recommend you still review the AI-generated responses and edit as needed.

Engagement

The engagement section is another way to engage with colleagues and stakeholders. You can keep track of contact details and monitor stakeholder engagement with your organization. For example, if you attend a conference and collect a list of contacts, you can keep that list of contacts here and even tag them so you can remember where you met them.

For example, create a tag called "London Sustainability Conference 2023" and add this tag your new contacts from that conference. Or keep notes about the contact in the notes section.
