Adding Water Data

You can enter water data in Brightest based on water type, water source and water use type.

Entering Water Data using the Add Tool

  1. Navigate to your asset's footprint data page, and select the Water tab.

  2. Select your water type and source (you can select as many as needed) from the dropdown menu. Water types and source include:

  1. In the Water Historical Data Section, click on "Add Data" for each water type/source.

  2. Select the water measurement metric.

  3. Select the water use type. Water use types include:

Consumption

Effluent, treatment, and wastewater

Other

Withdrawal and use

  1. Enter the water amount.

  2. Select the period interval for the data being added.

  3. (Optional) Attached an invoice.

  4. Repeat steps 3 - 8 to enter data for each water type/source.

  5. Click "Save" or "Update".

By default emissions associated with water data are allocated to Scope 3 — Emissions from water consumption. If you wish for the emissions to be allocated to Scope 3 — Purchased Goods and Services, go to your Settings to change the allocation. Navigate to Settings > ESG and Sustainability Settings > GHG > Water Carbon Accounting Category.
