Managing Brightest Tasks

Use the Tasks sub-tab to track tasks from the Sustainability, ESG Reporting, and Actions modules, or create and manage new tasks from scratch.
To create new tasks:
Click the "Add New" button
Fill out the Task Creation Form
Name

Enter the name of the task
Description

Provide directions or more information about the task
Due Date

Select the due date of the task
Repeat

Toggle the switch "on" if you want this task to be recurring
Repeat Days
Yes
This will by default be entered as "0."
To set a recurring task, toggle the "Repeat" switch on and specify the number of days here between each new task.
Priority
Yes
Select the priority of this task from the dropdown menu.
Assigned to
Yes
Select the Brightest user that this task is assigned to from the dropdown menu. To assign tasks to colleagues, they must first accept their license invitation and register their Brightest account.
Activity
No
If this task is related to one of your events created in the Actions Module, you can select it from the dropdown menu.
Asset
No
If this task is related to one of your assets created in the Sustainability Module, you can select it from the dropdown menu.
ESG Report
No
If this task is related to one of your ESG reports created in the ESG Reporting Module, you can select it from the dropdown menu.
Click "Save" to create your task.
Assigned users will receive an email notification with a direct link to the Brightest platform. After logging in to complete their work, they can mark the task as "Completed" in their task list.
You can easily monitor progress by filtering your task table for completed items.

Incidents and Risks

Use the Risks sub-tab to monitor organizational risk profiles, including tracking for financial and climate-related risks.
To upload risk information:
Click the "Add New" button
Complete the Risk Creation Form
Name

Enter the name or label of the risk.
Type
Yes
Select the type of risk or risk category from the dropdown menu.
Please note, if it is a climate risk, you'll be prompted to assign it as a physical or transition risk.
Risk Level
Yes
Select the risk level on a scale from low to very high from the dropdown menu.
Likelihood
Yes
Select the likelihood of the risk occurring on a scale from low to very high from the dropdown menu.
Mitigation Potential
Yes
Select the organization's ability to mitigate the risk on a scale from low to very high from the dropdown menu.
Time Horizon
Yes
Select the time horizon of the risk from short-term to long-term from the dropdown menu.
Financial Cost
No
Enter the financial cost associated with the risk.
Financial Cost Currency
No
Select the currency of the financial risk amount.
Geographic Scope
Yes
Select the geographic scope from the dropdown menu.
If you select "Country", you'll be prompted to select the location(s). If you select "Regional" you'll be prompted to select the region(s). If you select "Local" or "State" you'll be prompted to enter an address.
Commentary
No
Enter any comments or notes about the risk or risk assessment.
Occurence Date
Yes
Select the occurrence date of the risk.
Solutions Implemented
No
Toggle this switch "on" if the organization has implemented a solution for the risk.
Documents
No
Upload any supporting documentation of the risk or risk assessment.
Click "Save" to create your risk.
If you would like to bulk upload risk assessment data, click the "CSV Upload" button to download our template, enter your information, and import.
Once your risks are logged, use the Risks & Incidents tab to visualize trends, monitor analytics, and perform comprehensive risk reviews.
Policies

Centralize your governance documents in the Policies sub-tab. Here you can manage, create, and send policies, codes of conduct, and forms.
To create new policies:
Click the "Add New" button
Complete the Policy Creation Form

Enter the name of the policy or document.
Description

Add a description of the policy or document.
Type

Select the type of policy or document from the dropdown menu.
Documents

Upload the policy, document, or other relevant information
Priority
Yes
Select the priority from the dropdown menu.

Select the status from the dropdown menu.
% of Employees Trained
Yes
Enter the percentage of employees trained on this policy.
Click "Save"
Alternatively, if you're still working to create new policies, you can use the "Generate Policy" button to use our AI Policy Generator to draft new organizational policies.

Distribute and Track Policies
Distribute and track with ease. Once your policies are in Brightest, send them directly to colleagues, suppliers, and partnersβthen monitor approvals in real time. This area is also available in the Social Module.
To send policies:
Click on the green "send" button
in the Actions column of the policy table.Complete the Share Form:
Select your recipients:
Select partners or suppliers from the dropdown menu to send your policy. You can also monitor their responses within their individual profiles in the Partners Module.
Select your Brightest team members. Note: Users must be invited to the license and have completed their account registration before they can be selected.
Enter the email address(es) of external recipients.
Select the frequency in which you want to send the policy, agreement, or document.
If you need the recipients to e-sign the policy, document or agreement, toggle the switch "on".
Your recipients will then receive an email from the Brightest platform with a link to the policy and acknowledgement form. You can then track the completed and pending acceptances by click on the summary information in the "Acceptances" column.





Certifications

Track and manage certifications in the Certifications sub-tab.
To add new certifications:
Click the "Add New" button
Complete the Certification Creation Form

Enter the name of the certification.
Description

Enter a description of the certification.
Type
No
Select the type or category of certification from the dropdown menu.
Geographic Scope
No
Select the geographic scope from the dropdown menu.
Asset(s)
No
If the certification pertains to a particular asset or assets, select them from the dropdown menu.
Website
No
Enter a website link to the certification or regulatory organization.
Documents
No
Upload any relevant documents.
Date Valid
No
Select the date the certification was granted.
Expiration Date
No
Select the expiration date of the certification.
Date Updated
No
Select the date the certification was updated.
Valid
No
Enter the status of the certification.
Click "Save"
Documents

Centralize your evidence. Use the Documents sub-tab to upload, track, and manage all ESG-related files and supporting documentation.
In the documents area, you'll find all documents that have been imported Brightest. You can also upload new documents.
To upload new documents:
Select the tab the document relates to (Reports, Materiality, Assets, Projects, Products, or Transit)
Click the "Add New" button
Complete the document creation form

Upload the document.
Meta Tags

Select any relevant tags related to the document to help with finding and filtering the documents.
Click "Save"
Board Diversity

Track and report on your organizationβs board diversity metrics and representation in the Board Diversity sub-tab. Please note, this section is also available in the Social Module.

Create and monitor custom governance KPIs tailored to your organizationβs unique goals in the KPIs sub-tab.
