Use Improvements to track the impact of quantitative environmental improvements like emissions reduction initiatives and energy efficiency measures

Create Improvements

  1. To create and view your organization's improvements, navigate to the Goals & Targets Module, then click on the Improvements tab.

  2. Click the "Add New" button to create a new improvement.

  3. Complete the Improvement Creation Form

Select the status of the improvement from the dropdown menu. This can be updated as needed as the project progresses.

Activity

If this improvement relates to one of your events created in the Actions Module, you can select it from the dropdown menu.

Assets

If this improvement is related a specific asset or assets, you can select them from the dropdown menu.

Materials

No

If one of your existing materials will be impacted by this improvement, you can select it in the dropdown menu.

Products

If one of your existing products will be impacted by this improvement, you can select it in the dropdown menu.

Metric Name

Yes

Select the metric that will be improved by this project.

Scope

No

Select the GHG emissions scope that will be improved by this project.

Category

No

Select the specific scope category that will be improved by this project.

Impact Type

No

Select if the impact will be an absolute value or a percentage reduction.

Target Value

Yes

Enter the target reduction amount (either the absolute value or the reduction percentage)

Actual Value

No

Once the project is complete, you can add the actual improvement value here.

Unit

No

If your improvement is tied to a specific unit you can select it here. For example, if the improvement is reducing the kWh of electricity consumed, you can select kWh as the unit of improvement.

Baseline Year

No

Select the baseline year.

Target Year

No

Select the target year.

Documents

No

Upload any relevant documents.

Notes

No

Enter any other notes or documentation related to the project.

  1. Once the form is complete, click "Save"


Managing Your Improvement Data

Now that your improvement is active, you can use the dropdown menu at the top of the table to forecast and analyze your data through various lenses.

To edit or update current improvements, simply click on the name of the improvement project.


Other Key Features

  • Enhanced Visualization: Adjust target and forecast graphs to toggle the inclusion of your improvement data for a clearer "before and after" comparison.

  • Asset-Specific Controls: Manage improvements at the individual asset level via the Sustainability Module.

  1. Navigate to the Assets tab.

  2. Select the pie chart icon next to an asset name in the Data Column.

  3. In the asset's dashboard, open the Improvements sub-tab to create, upload, or edit improvements specific to that asset.

  • Collaborative Management: You can grant data collaborators that have been assigned to assets access to this tab via User Settings, allowing them to manage improvements at the site level directly.
